Solicitors run to the beat of charity fundraising
12 July 2012 by Paula Fowler
Nearly £1,500 has been raised by law firm QualitySolicitors FJG as they took on the British 10km run last weekend, all in support of the J’s Hospice in Chelmsford.
The British 10km London Run took place on Sunday 8th July in the heart of the capital and saw 30,000 runners racing along the world’s greatest route. Much of the course took place on the same route as will be used for the Olympic Marathon course at London 2012 and took in landmarks including Trafalgar Square, Big Ben and St Paul’s Cathedral. Making their Olympic course debut for QS FJG were Paula Fowler and Nicki Robinson who battled the British weather to come in with brilliant times of 1 hr 21 minutes and 1 hr 4 minutes respectively, both coming in the top third of all the runners.
Paula Fowler, Managing Partner at QS FJG said: “I was delighted to be able to support the J’s Hospice by taking part in such a great event as the British 10km run. The opportunity of raising money for them was not one to be passed up as they are a fantastic charity who do amazing and invaluable work. The fundraising kept me going throughout the tough run and wet weather and the fact we have raised thousands is fantastic news, especially as I was able to get fit at the same time!”
Nicki Robinson, family Secretary at QS FJG added: “I heard about the British 10km run and knew that QualitySolicitors FJG had been taking part in many events to raise money for this worthy local charity, and wanted to make my own contribution too. Having raised such a brilliant amount is great and it makes the effort and the pain all the more worthwhile.”
