Qualifying time at FJG

Haddy Jack, a member of the immigration team at Essex-based solicitors Fisher Jones Greenwood LLP, has recently qualified as a Solicitor under the Qualified Lawyers Transfer Regulations 2009. Haddy is a qualified Barrister in Gambia and completed the Bar Vocational Course at Nottingham Law School in 2004.

Haddy joined the FJG immigration team as a senior caseworker in 2011 having relocated from Birmingham and has valuable experience of asylum, human rights and immigration matters including appeals, British Citizenship applications, Tier 4 Student visas and EEA applications. She has also regularly appeared as an advocate in both the First Tier Tribunal and the Upper Tier Tribunal of the Immigration and Asylum Chamber.

Haddy said: "I am thrilled to have qualified as a solicitor and I am equally excited to see that the hard work and dedication to my career so far has paid off. I am now looking forward to continuing my work with FJG and helping to contribute to the success of the firm ".

FJG Expands into Central London

Fisher Jones Greenwood LLP is proud to announce the opening of its new offices at 154-160 Fleet Street. Businesses in London can now take advantage of legal services provided by long-established, (Legal 500 recommended and Lexcel quality approved) solicitors Fisher Jones Greenwood. The new offices are conveniently located on Fleet Street, only a few minutes walk from the High Court and Chancery Lane, Blackfriars and City Thameslink stations.

This is the latest step in a programme of expansion for the firm that has seen the addition of three new offices within the last 18 months. The new office will offer a full range of services, including commercial, employment, real estate, private client work and litigation.

Willing you on for charity

February 2012 sees the Colchester Hospitals Charity (CoHoC) initiative "Make a Will Month", and local solicitors Fisher Jones Greenwood LLP are proud to be participating in the scheme.

The scheme runs for the duration of February and means clients receive FJG Private Client team's exceptional level of professional service and Will preparation in return for a donation to CoHoC. All potential clients have to do is make an appointment for February stating that they are taking part in CoHoC's Make a Will Month. There is absolutely no charge from FJG, as the full cost will be waived in return for a suggested donation of £75 for a simple single Will, or £100 in respect of a couple's mirror Wills. The donation goes direct to CoHoC and can be used to strengthen the valuable work they do.

Kate Wombwell, Partnership Member and Head of the Private Client Team at FJG said: "It is always important to encourage everyone over eighteen to make sure they have everything in order and have a Will written or an existing Will updated. Not only will this fantastic scheme help to move people into action, but it will also be raising money for a very worthy cause that can really benefit from your donations. Opportunities Knock at FJG

Essex law firm Fisher Jones Greenwood LLP have recognised the contribution of paralegal Charlotte Digby by awarding her with a hard-earned training contract.

Charlotte started at FJG as a conveyancing secretary before progressing to a paralegal in the family team. Commencing her training contract with the firm as from January 1st, Charlotte is now firmly on her way to becoming a fully qualified solicitor.

Charlotte said: "I am delighted that FJG are able to provide such a sought after opportunity. The chance to qualify as a solicitor is one I intend to grasp firmly and I am looking forward to justifying the confidence that the firm has shown in me".

New Immigration expert at FJG

Essex-based Solicitors Fisher Jones Greenwood LLP have expanded their Chambers and Legal 500 recommended Immigration team with the appointment of new Senior Immigration Advisor, Ashlee Campbell.

Ashlee joins FJG with over ten years' experience in Immigration law and brings with her a proven track record of success. With experience in all areas of immigration law, she has particular expertise in corporate immigration. In addition, Ashlee can advise education providers on tier 4 compliance and is able to provide in-house training to employers on UKBA compliance and illegal working issues.

New Partner at FJG

Paula Fowler, Practice Manager at award-winning Solicitors Fisher Jones Greenwood LLP has been promoted to partnership and appointed Managing Partner as from 1st January 2012.

Paula joined the firm in 2010 as Practice Manager and has since overseen an extremely successful period for Fisher Jones Greenwood. During that time the firm has expanded with a third office and carried out a merger in Chelmsford, giving the firm a fantastic platform for future successes.

Thousands raised for local breast cancer charity

Essex-based solicitors Fisher Jones Greenwood LLP yesterday handed over a cheque for £7,000 to the Colchester Breast Cancer Charitable Fund.

The money was raised after joining forces with Coutts to host a prestigious charity ladies luncheon event at 'Le Talbooth' in September. The charity event, compered by Anglia Television presenter Becky Jago, attracted over 100 guests and the funds generated will go towards the purchase of two digital mammography machines.

Tony Fisher, senior partner at Fisher Jones Greenwood LLP said, "We are thrilled with the amount of money was raised through this event for such a worthy cause and delighted that we have been able to show our continued commitment to raising money for local charities. New Landlord Service Launched at FJG

Award-winning Essex based law firm Fisher Jones Greenwood LLP have launched a brand new housing service.

The new service offers housing advice and is aimed predominantly towards private landlords. The purpose of the service is to make sure that landlords remain in control of both their property and their legal fees and offers a straightforward telephone interview system to get clients started without having to charge a large fixed fee at the beginning.
