This category allows adoptive parents to bring their adopted child/children to settle in the UK or come to the UK with their parent temporarily. This is an extremely complicated category under the Immigration Rules and you will therefore need to ensure your application is correct. We can assist you throughout this process.
There are many other requirements that must be met in order for a visa to be granted in this situation examples of these include checking whether the adoption is legally recognised in the UK and ensuring that the adoptive parent can maintain and accommodate the child.
In some circumstances when a child has been adopted in a country where adoption is not recognised by the UK the child may be able to apply to come to the UK to be adopted through the Courts here. The visa process is specific and complicated and is a separate legal requirement to the adoption process. We urge parents in these circumstances to get advice.
In some circumstances children who are already in the UK on a temporary basis, need to apply to remain in the UK permanently and we can assist with this application.
