Domestic Violence

Victims of Domestic Violence:

Domestic abuse can be both emotional and physical. If your marriage or civil or unmarried partnership to a British Citizen or someone who is settled in the United Kingdom permanently breaks down as a result of domestic violence, you will understandably have questions about your immigration status if your current visa is dependent on this relationship.

The UK’s immigration laws recognise the very difficult and precarious circumstances that victims of domestic violence find themselves in. You may be able to apply for indefinite leave to remain in the UK even though your relationship with the British citizen or person with settled status has permanently broken down.

How can we help?

We can assist you through this difficult period by advising you on whether the specific circumstances of your case allow you to make an application for indefinite leave to remain. We will represent you in the preparation and submission of your application for indefinite leave to remain. If you have already made the application and it has been refused, we will advise you on the chances of success in appealing the refusal and, if you wish to pursue the immigration appeal, we represent you throughout the appeal process.
