Paul Tawn , Partnership Member

Paul is the Partner responsible for the Criminal Law team. He qualified as a Solicitor in 1989 and has been specialising in criminal law for 16 years. He is a member of the Colchester, Tendring and Braintree Duty Solicitor Schemes and receives instructions regarding a broad spectrum of criminal cases, spanning both private and commercial matters. Paul has represented clients charged with the more serious criminal offences, including sexual and family related offences and commercial matters relating to regulatory work.

James Baird Murray , Solicitor

James was admitted as a Solicitor in 1960 and has spent his career dealing mainly in criminal law matters. He has experience of both Crown Court and Magistrates Court work and is a Commissioner for Oaths.

Matthew Welch , Partnership Member

Matthew is an Employment law specialist but also undertakes licensing work. He trained as a mediator with the ADR Group, one of the most successful alternative dispute resolution training providers in the country.

Matthew has extensive experience in drafting all types of employment related documentation including employment contracts, compromise agreements and ancillary policies and procedures.

He also has long standing experience advising businesses with regard to employment problems and represents both employers and employees at employment tribunals. Matthew's department holds one of the few legal franchises in employment law in Essex and Suffolk and was recently assessed in a Legal Services Commission Peer Group Analysis as providing work of a consistently high standard.
