What are the Risks for Me?
There are no risks to you in signing a Conditional Fee Agreement if you insure against having to pay your opponents cost if you lose. It is the solicitor who is taking the risk by trusting his or her own judgement that your case will be successful. The "success fee" payable to your solicitor under the terms of the CFA reflects that risk and the effect on his or her firm's cash flow of not being paid for work until your claim has been completed - sometimes several years after your injury. It is in your best interests to insure against the risk of having to pay your opponents costs if you lose your claim. This firm will only act for you on a Conditional Fee Agreement if you agree to take out such an insurance policy with Accident Line Protect (a Law Society approved company) We do not receive any commission for arranging this insurance cover for you although we do from time to time receive referrals from them.
