Registering a Judgement

Winning a civil dispute claim - FJG Solicitors Colchester Essex UKIf someone fails to pay a County Court judgement within the time stipulated by the Judge details of that judgement will be entered on the Register of County Court Judgement Those entries stay on the Register for 6 years. The fact that a judgement has been registered against someone makes it difficult for that person to obtain credit.

Although a paid judgement can be marked as "satisfied" a judgement can only be removed from the Register with the agreement of the Court. Not all judgements are easily removed and it is better to avoid them being registered in the first place.
