Paternity
Disputes over paternity are usually raised when the Child Support Agency starts to assess possible maintenance. They may also come up during disputes between parents. They are nearly always resolved by DNA blood tests that can be so accurate as to indicate that only one man in the world could be the father!
In CSA cases, the CSA arranges the blood tests and the man will be required to pay the cost if he is adjudged to be the father. In cases between parents, the costs may have to be met by agreement or court order.
