Qualifying for Civil Partnership
To qualify for Civil Partnership a couple must:
- be of the same sex
- be aged over 16 (with parental consent if aged under 18)
- not be related to each other within the prohibited degrees of relationship
- not be in an existing marriage or civil partnership
- have a seven day residential qualification
- give notice in the area where they live prior to the formation of their civil partnership
