Qualifying for Civil Partnership

  • be of the same sex
  • be aged over 16 (with parental consent if aged under 18)
  • not be related to each other within the prohibited degrees of relationship
  • not be in an existing marriage or civil partnership
  • have a seven day residential qualification
  • give notice in the area where they live prior to the formation of their civil partnership
