Highly Skilled Migrant Program Changes
On the 7 November 2006 the Home Office announced changes to the HSMP Scheme. The minimum points now required is 75 and points can be scored based on age, qualificiations, previous earnings and UK experience. The MBA provision is still in place with an automatic 75 points if the MBA provision is complied with. The bonus points for registered GPs has been withdrawn as have the categories of significant and exceptional achievement.
There is now a language skill section where either the Applicant must have a Bachelors Degree that was taught in English and is an equivalent level to a UK Bachelors or the International English Language Testing system report form issued in the two years prior to the date of the application at Band 6 or above.
