Mayor's Ball set to raise record amount for charity

A leading Colchester law firm has linked up with the Mayor of Colchester to ensure one of the town’s most glittering annual charity events is bigger and better than ever before.

Fisher Jones Greenwood LLP is to sponsor this year’s Mayor’s Ball and Senior Partner Tony Fisher joined Mayor and Mayoress Cllr and Mrs Richard Gower at the Town Hall recently to launch the event.

Said Mr Fisher: “We are absolutely delighted to sponsor this year’s Mayor’s Ball.  All proceeds will be donated to the Mayor’s chosen charities and one of the main reasons we decided to sponsor the ball is because so many are concerned with improving and solving social welfare issues, something which we are passionate about as a firm.”

The ball is the last function in the current Mayor's social calendar and Cllr Richard Gower said: “We are most grateful to Fisher Jones Greenwood for supporting this really important event.  I am hopeful that we will be able to raise a record amount for charity.”

Set to benefit from this year’s Mayor’s Ball which takes place at the Moot Hall on Friday 11th May are the Army Benevolent Fund, Colchester and Tendring Community Trust, Headway Essex, the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign and Girlguiding Essex North East.
