Tony Fisher, Senior Partner at Essex law firm QualitySolicitors FJG has been appointed as the Law Society Council member for Essex for four years from July 2012. The Law Society is the representative and governing body of over 150,000 solicitors in England in Wales.
Tony has been heavily involved at the Law Society in one way or another for many years, most recently as chair of the Human Rights Committee, of which he remains a member. In April this year he furthered his involvement with the Law Society by standing successfully for the vacant council seat for Essex.
Speaking of his appointment, Tony added: ” It will be a great honour to represent the solicitors profession in Essex at such a momentous time for legal practice and I look forward to building new and vital relationships in the process. My appointment will also give Essex solicitors a voice in the formation of policy at national level. There will be many challenges for the solicitors profession over the next four years and I hope I can in some small way help solicitors in Essex meet these competitive challenges effectively. I am particularly keen to involve younger members of the profession in Law Society business.”
