Centenary Success at the Tendring Show

Over 20,000 people flocked to the 100th annual Tendring Show last Saturday as the weather turned out perfectly to create a fantastic celebration for the Centenary show.
The weather didn’t disappoint this year and on a sunny Saturday the showground near Manningtree hosted another popular running of the agricultural show. The FJG stand also proved popular with over 100 competition entrants flocking to the Food Hall sponsor’s stand.
Paula Fowler, Managing Partner at local law firm Fisher Jones Greenwood, sponsors of the food hall, said: “It is extremely important to us to continue to support events in the local community such as the Tendring Show. Seeing the 100th show this year be such a success is great and we are delighted to be the food hall sponsor. The new tent this year was a great addition and certainly kept the heat down!”
At their sponsors stand in the new and improved food hall, FJG raised £50 for the FJG Foundation with over 120 competition entrants. The children’s art competition was a particular highlight, as the children helped to celebrate the Centenary Tendring Show with some fantastic 100th birthday pictures. After some painstaking deliberation from the judges, the winner was 11 year old Ben Hunt with his fantastic tractor drawing.
The FJG Renewables Quiz was also a hit with the adults with the competition looking at over 100 years of renewable energy all coming down to a tiebreaker. After scoring a fantastic eight out of ten on the tough quiz, Mr Ray Amesbury took home the victory and the prize hamper.
Paula Fowler continued, “A big congratulations to both our winners this year, two great efforts. We already can’t wait to come back and show our continued support next year and we’re pleased to see that just like Ben put in his drawing, the show is 100 years old and still running strongly!”
