Olympic Gold for QualitySolicitors FJG
5 April 2012 by Tony Fisher
QualitySolicitors FJG experienced the thrills and spills of the new Olympic Stadium on Sunday at the Gold Challenge Olympic Stadium event.
A team of fundraisers from QualitySolicitors FJG led by trainee solicitor Charlotte Digby, have been participating in Gold Challenge events for several months including boxing, water polo and fencing and on Sunday a team took part in the stadium event. Solicitor Charlotte Knappett emulated Usain Bolt by running the 100m on the Olympic track and more team members took part in a parade around the track with other representative of J’s Hospice, the charity that QSFJG are raising money for. With races and celebrities on show, entertainment throughout and hundreds of charities represented, this was a fantastic event enjoyed by the several thousand in attendance.
The Gold Challenge itself is a unique new charity challenge with the simple goal to complete 5 Olympic sports before the end of 2012. In doing these sports, QSFJG are raising money for J’s Hospice in Chelmsford. The aim of The J’s Hospice is to build the first age-appropriate hospice for 18 to 40 year olds with life limiting conditions in the East of England. They want young adults to have the best possible quality of life, as independently as they can.
Next up for the intrepid team of fundraisers from QSFJG, is a 50 mile bike ride on 13th May in Chelmsford and then a 10k run in London as well as more Olympic events to try out, so keep an eye out for further updates!
