The Ministry of Justice has just announced a scheme enabling clients who registered an Enduring Power of Attorney or Lasting Power of Attorney between 01 April 2013 and 31 March 2017 are entitled to a partial refund in respect of the Office of the Public Guardian Court fees.
The Ministry of Justice have confirmed the process to register these documents became more efficient during this period and as a result operating costs for the Office of the Public Guardian came down. The fee charged to process the registration of the Lasting Powers of Attorney was not in line with these efficiencies which was why the Court fee was reduced from £110 to £82 effective from 01 April 2017.
