We were proud to join in the fun at the Clacton Airshow this year. Clacton and its award-winning beaches were the sunny backdrop to the shows 28th year of high-flying fun. Over the two days the popular Clacton Airshow welcomed crowds of up to 250,000 people with this year’s festivities including daring acrobatic air displays, on-site entertainment, twilight flights and firework displays.

Our fabulous give aways included the trustworthy FJG canvas shopping bags but also a further selection of  eco-friendly freebies, such as reusable bamboo straws. The issue of plastic straw usage has quickly become a headline topic with the acknowledgement that although used and thrown away in a matter of minutes, the straw then takes hundreds of years to decompose (BBC). This plastic then often ends up in our oceans. Therefore, during the Clacton coast-side celebrations we offered environmentally conscious substitutes, in the hope that we can help reduce these effects.

The current estimation is that 50% of all plastic is single-use plastic (Independent). Therefore, it is individual steps such as reusable straws and durable bags that can make a collective, significant difference.

Paula Fowler, Managing Partner at FJG added, “Fisher Jones Greenwood is a law firm with a conscience and is intrinsically concerned with its ecological footprint. Both individually, and as a collective, we strive to take innovative and forward-thinking steps that improve our environmental impact and raise awareness of such issues. Our presence at local events must, and does, reflect this. We hope to continue in such a positive and progressive nature.”
