Jason is a Solicitor within our Dispute Resolution Team and is based at our Chelmsford office. He joined the firm in 2015 having previously worked in London, in both private practice and within an in-house legal team.
Jason handles a wide variety of litigious matters. He specialises in commercial and regulatory litigation, including contractual disputes, debt recovery, professional negligence, construction and economic torts. He advises both corporate entities and individuals and takes a practical commercial approach to resolving disputes. Jason is a believer in Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) and often manages to resolve disputes without recourse to formal legal proceedings.
Jason is also a specialist in providing sports regulatory advice, including representation to sportsmen and women in anti-doping matters, agency work and contractual matters. He has represented international and national level athletes and high-profile retired athletes. Prior to joining FJG, Jason spent over 5 years working in the legal directorate at UK Anti-Doping where he was heavily involved in the results management process of bringing anti-doping charges against athletes and athlete support personnel.
Jason was involved in a leading case which resulted in the sanction of an athlete by way of the UK’s first lifetime ban for a first offence. Jason has also conducted a wide variety of sports-related investigations and has advised internal and external stakeholders, including UK National Governing Bodies, on anti-doping regulatory compliance. Jason has practical experience in doping control and was selected to work at doping control for both the London 2012 Olympic Games and Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games.
