Joel is a Solicitor-Advocate (Higher Courts, Civil Proceedings) in our Family Team based in Chelmsford.
Joel joined Fisher Jones Greenwood as a Paralegal in August 2019 after completing his Law Degree at Anglia Ruskin University. He has since completed the Legal Practice Course combined with an LLM Masters degree at Northumbria University and Joel also has a Higher Diploma in Paralegal Practice.
Joel qualified as a Solicitor in June 2022 and is able to deal with a broad range of family matters including; children disputes between parents, divorce, financial matters arising upon divorce, nuptial agreements, domestic abuse and changes of name.
Joel provides pro-bono (free) advice in collaboration with Anglia Ruskin Law Clinic and also helps to run the family law drop-in clinic at our Chelmsford Office on Wednesday mornings, offering free face to face meetings with a Solicitor for initial advice.
In May 2024, Joel obtained Higher Rights of Audience enabling him to appear and conduct proceedings on behalf of clients in the Senior Courts in England and Wales. This includes the High Court, Court of Appeal and Supreme Court.
This is a combined role, allowing Joel to provide clients with continuity of care throughout their case, both in an advisory capacity, as well as being able to represent clients at hearings in a range of areas and complexities.
Joel is an experienced advocate who is able to assist clients in respect of most hearings, including contested Final Hearings and Fact Finding Hearings, where appropriate.
Joel is also able to act for clients as an advocate only, offering fixed fees for advocacy services.
Outside of work, Joel enjoys spending time with his family, playing hockey and he is currently learning Norwegian.
