Over the course of the last year, the Home Office have changed the way they are processing visa applications. Whereas before for many people who last applied for a visa 30 months ago had to submit all their supporting documents and application in person or via the post. The Home Office have developed a new electronic way which avoids supporting papers to be forwarded on to the Home Office for consideration.

How is COVID-19 affecting Short Term Visas?
The Government has advised today that those people in the UK on short term visas which were due to expire between 24th January 2020 and 31st May 2020 and they have been unable to leave the country to return to their country of origin that they will automatically have their visas extended until 31st May 2020. However, the Home Office have advised that those individuals need to contact the Coronavirus Immigration Team in order to have this matter resolved.
