Fisher Jones Greenwood LLP solicitors has today, on 29th April, completed their acquisition of Steed and Steed solicitors with offices in Sudbury and Braintree.  The acquisition has been supported by private equity firm the Blixt Group. The firm will become part of the FJG group and operate under the Fisher Jones Greenwood LLP name, led by FJG CEO Tony Fisher and COO Paula Cameron.

The deal will expand FJG’s collective capabilities and services in key practice areas for the firm including family law, conveyancing, private client and dispute resolution.

The acquisition will see the firm grow to some 200 lawyers and support staff across 9 offices in Essex, Suffolk and London. The scale will allow the firm to dedicate more resources to its clients and additional capital to target key growth markets and industries.

“Steed and Steed are a very well established and respected firm and this acquisition sees FJG expand for the first time into Suffolk. The acquisition of Steed and Steed made sense as both firms have a strong focus on the elements of professional legal services which will make us more competitive in the marketplace, including fostering a team-oriented culture and prioritising responsiveness, innovation and agility when providing services to clients,” said CEO, Tony Fisher.

“For FJG, the acquisition not only expands our presence in Essex – where we have a lengthy history and strong client base – but extends our geographical reach into Suffolk.”

With this strategic acquisition, to be followed by others, FJG gains a larger geographical footprint, and a broader network that will enable it to expand the services provided to their clients.
