Fisher Jones Greenwood (FJG) has been recognised for its work in private client services, with the firm shortlisted in two categories at the British Wills and Probate Awards 2026.
The firm’s Wills, Life Planning & Probate team has been named a finalist for ‘Pioneers of the Year’, recognising its approach to innovation and improving the way legal services are delivered.
Solicitor Shannon Robey has also been shortlisted for ‘One to Watch Practitioner of the Year’, an award celebrating rising talent within the wills and probate profession.
Innovation in wills, trusts, and probate services
The Pioneers of the Year nomination reflects the work undertaken by FJG’s Wills, Life Planning & Probate team to modernise its services while continuing to provide clients with the specialist advice and personal support they need.
Led by Partner and Head of Wills, Life Planning & Probate Gregory John, the department includes nine partners and more than twenty professionals working across Essex, Suffolk and London.
In recent years, the team has invested in technology and improved its processes to make services more efficient, helping its lawyers spend more time focusing on clients and their individual circumstances.
Digital and AI-assisted tools are now used across areas including client onboarding, identity verification, legal research, document preparation, and electronic signing. These changes have helped improve consistency and turnaround times, with some document preparation processes reduced by between 20 and 50 per cent.
Alongside innovation, the team continues to focus on delivering a high-quality client experience. FJG’s Wills, Trusts & Probate services currently hold a 4.9 out of five rating on ReviewSolicitors.
Recognising emerging talent
Shannon Robey joined FJG’s Wills, Life Planning & Probate team in March 2025 and is based at the firm’s Chelmsford office.
Since qualifying as a solicitor in September 2022, Shannon has developed experience in complex probate and trust matters, including international estates, detailed estate investigations and cases involving multiple stakeholders.
Her nomination for One to Watch Practitioner of the Year recognises both her legal expertise and her wider contribution to the profession.
Alongside supporting clients, Shannon has contributed to the Farleigh Hospice Make a Will Campaign, written articles on private client matters and shared her experience of qualifying through the SQE route as a member of the Lawfront SQE Panel.
Shannon said:
“Being shortlisted for One to Watch is a real honour and something of which I am incredibly proud. It is rewarding to see the work I have put into supporting my clients and developing my career recognised in this way.
“What I enjoy most about being a private client solicitor is getting to know my clients and helping them plan for the future with confidence. The work is incredibly personal, and it is a privilege to support individuals and families through some of life’s most important decisions.
“It also means a great deal that FJG nominated me, and I want to thank the firm for its continued support and encouragement.”
Celebrating the team’s achievements
Gregory John said:
“As FJG’s Wills & Probate services continue to develop, this double shortlisting is welcome recognition for the team and for Shannon.
“The Pioneers nomination reflects the work conducted across the department to improve the way we deliver our services. Shannon’s nomination recognises the impact she has already made since joining us.
“We’re extremely proud of both nominations and look forward to the awards in October.”
The British Wills and Probate Awards celebrate achievements across the wills, probate, and estate planning profession.
The winners will be announced at the Kimpton Clocktower Hotel in Manchester on Thursday 8 October 2026.
