FJG to divert funds to those in need

FJG have decided to divert funds which would normally have been spent on corporate gifts and direct these to charities desperately in need.

In December, FJG are donating £1000 to three local charitable organisations: Home Start, Colchester Emergency Night Shelter, and Colchester foodbank. These charities were chosen as their work will be essential to the Essex community both, at Christmas time, and in the coming year.

One of those is Home-Start; a local community network of trained volunteers working with families with young children struggling with post-natal depression, isolation, physical health problems, bereavement, and other issues. Michelle Clewley-Lyon, an employee at FJG, suggested the firm could buy a few toys off the charity’s wish list for children they support who would otherwise have nothing to open. However, FJG have gone a step further and bought all the toys from the list and more.

Secondly, FJG are donating to the Colchester Emergency Night Shelter. For the first time in their 35 year history, the Shelter has had to close making donations crucial to ensure the homeless in Colchester can continue to use their services in the future. Finally, FJG are supporting the Colchester foodbank, part of the nationwide network of foodbank The Trussell Trust, Colchester’s foodbank has five locations helping local people in crisis. In 2020, foodbanks have been busier than ever, these funds will help ensure those most in need in the Essex community won’t go hungry.

As well as these donations, FJG are supporting St Helena Hospice’s Festive Fortnight, sponsoring their SinglePoint office on 22nd December. This important service provides advice and support to patients, families and health and social care professionals over the phone – 24 hours, 7 days a week – ensuring patients and families facing a crisis this festive season are never alone.
