The deadline is closely looming for EU nationals wishing to live and work in the UK.
On 1st January 2021, the EU Free movement Rules in the UK become obsolete with an Appendix under the Immigration Rules coming in to force.
EU nationals are advised to enter by 31st December 2020 in order that they are not faced with the requirements needed to be met under this Appendix.
EU nationals who are also in the UK are urged to ensure that they have applied for either Pre-Settled or Settled Status via the Settlement Scheme as soon as possible as the deadline is 30th June 2021.
Those who currently hold a residence permit need to ensure that they have had their pre-settled status confirmed and those who have held permanent residence need to also ensure that they apply via the Settlement Scheme to confirm their Settled Status. Those who hold permanent residence do not need to make an application for confirmation of their settled status unless they make an application for British Citizenship however this application needs to be made prior to the 30th June 2021.
