Local law firm donates to support charity for children with complex needs
Local law firm Fisher Jones Greenwood (FJG) has donated £1500 to Mersea Island based ‘Camp Jojo’ a registered charity set up by people with first-hand experience of the joys and challenges faced when parenting a child with complex needs.
A donation of £500 was made by the FJG Foundation in 2020, with an additional donation of £500 from Paula Cameron, Chief Operating Officer at Fisher Jones Greenwood as well as £500 from the foundation for 2021. The funds are an enormous boost to the charity, which each year offers 6-7 families with children with complex needs the opportunity to camp for 3 days over a weekend under canvas on a specially adapted campsite at Ivy Farm, East Mersea, in Essex, with whatever accessible equipment they require.
On Friday 6th August, Ralph Spence, from Camp JoJo invited Paula Cameron to join him for a tour. She was able to see first hand the facilities where families can stay and take part in everything from feeding chickens and getting to know the very friendly sheep, to making hammocks to lighting fires, throwing tomahawks, and going on a foraging walk. Paula was even introduced to the resident Donkeys, Walter and Hugo.

Visiting Ivy Farm, and hearing first hand about the impact the charity has on the lives of the families they have helped has been incredible. These generous donations from Fisher Jones Green Wood will enable the charity to offer this opportunity to more families next year by helping to pay for the extra disability costs involved.”
