Senior Associate
Matt Desborough is a Senior Associate in the Commercial Property Team based in Colchester.
Having graduated from the University of Essex with Upper Second Class honours in LLB Law in 2013, Matt then undertook his Legal Practice Course at the University of Law in Moorgate before joining a local property based practice in July 2014, initially in the Residential Conveyancing Department before undertaking his training contract and qualifying in January 2018.
Matt has gained a wealth of experience dealing with both Commercial Property and Corporate matters including Commercial Leases, Freehold Sales/Purchases, Asset Sales/Purchases, Share Sales/Purchases, Shareholder’s Agreements and other corporate constitutional restructuring.
Matt has also acted for a number of Company Buy-to-Let clients in both acquiring property and transferring their portfolios from their individual to corporate entities. He has developed an expertise in acting for clients in both the Property and Care sectors.
In his spare time, Matt is a season ticket holder at Colchester United and enjoys watching/attending a range of sports including Cricket, Rugby and Formula 1. Matt also enjoys playing golf and is a keen runner, having completed a number of half-marathons and 10k runs.
