Earlier this year Fisher Jones Greenwood commissioned a survey to gauge the prevalence of discrimination within today’s workplace.
The results from the survey – which revealed almost 20% of people have experienced discrimination of some type during their career – was a stark reminder that discrimination is still a very real issue, and employers therefore need to ensure that they have robust policies in place to prevent, or act accordingly on issues relating to discrimination within their business.
The first step to understanding discrimination is understanding it, so with this in mind we have created the infographic to the right, which highlights the core elements of discrimination, as well as advice for minimising the risk of discrimination in the workplace.
We hope that this guide serves as a useful resource, but should you have any questions or concerns about your own policies, or discrimination in general, please do not hesitate to get in touch with our employment team.
