As a secretary at Fisher Jones Greenwood one of my duties is to verify client’s bank details.  We often ask clients for their bank details in order to send inheritance monies, residential property sale proceeds, injury award payments etc and more often than not these are sent in via email.  I often get asked “But I have already sent them to you by email so why are you calling me?”  This is a precaution for security purposes as emails are not a secure way of sending sensitive information and can be intercepted therefore Fisher Jones Greenwood will always telephone clients as a precaution to verbally check the bank/building society information to reduce the risk of monies going astray.
