We have been shortlisted for two prestigious Law Society Excellence Awards. The first, Law Firm of the Year – Medium Sized is in recognition of its commitment to continual improvement both in practice and with staff which is evidenced by the progress achieved over the last year.  Initiatives such as the creation of the FJG Equality & Diversity group working with RAD and Stonewall, investing and ‘growing our own’ talent with an increase across all areas of the firm.  On-going training across the firm as a whole such as CMI Management Course training, paralegals, trainees, CILEX and apprentices prove that FJG is committed to developing and engaging with its staff.  The second category is for Excellence in Marketing and Communications in particular, for the #whatsonyourlist campaign which stressed the importance of making a Will early in life.

Paula Fowler, Managing Partner, commented “At Fisher Jones Greenwood the client journey is very important to us and we have boosted our presence in front of a wider audience by blogging, posting and responding to social media comments.  We have re-branded our Private Client department to the more contemporary Wills, Life Planning and Probate Team and realised our position as modern, friendly, understanding experts in our field.  This underlines and highlights the core values, strengths and focus of the firm”.

Law Society president Christina Blacklaws said: “There are more than 9,000 firms and 140,000 solicitors in England and Wales, so to be shortlisted for an Excellence Award is to be recognised as being among the best of the best.

Paula continued “All the firms and solicitors who are shortlisted should be congratulated for the work they do day-in-day-out to support their clients, many of whom are navigating complex and challenging legal problems.

“At a time of immense pressure on the justice system, the incredible work being done by solicitors across the country should be applauded.”

Winners are announced at the Law Society’s Excellence Awards ceremony in London on 17 October.
