Today sees the commemoration of Essex Dementia Day with a range of events being carried out across the County.
It is estimated 20,000 people are living with dementia in Essex.
Essex County Council in conjunction with the Alzheimer’s Society are calling on communities to become dementia friendly in order to educate and support people living with dementia. At Fisher Jones Greenwood we are proud of our association with the Alzheimer’s Society through their Will to Remember campaign. In addition many of our staff have become Dementia Friends following a programme aimed at transforming the way we think, act, and talk about the condition. There are currently over one million Dementia Friends across England and Wales.
