Fisher Jones Greenwood will be taking part in the Chelmsford Legal Walk on Thursday 9 July2026, supporting the Access to Justice Foundation.

This annual event brings together the legal community to raise funds for organisations providing free legal advice to those who may not otherwise be able to access it.

This year’s event includes members of the firm involved in the organising committee – Tom Joyce, Solicitor in the Family team, and Leah Mackay, Solicitor Apprentice in the Commercial Property team. The firm has supported the Chelmsford Legal Walk for a number of years.

Why it matters

The Access to Justice Foundation works to increase funding for free legal advice, supporting people across the UK who are facing legal challenges but lack the means to get help.

Access to legal support can be critical in situations involving housing, employment, family matters and personal safety, particularly for vulnerable individuals and communities.

Part of a wider commitment

At Fisher Jones Greenwood, supporting initiatives like the Legal Walk reflects a wider commitment to the communities we serve.

The firm’s vision is centred on ensuring individuals and businesses can access expert legal services, delivered by people who care about their local communities.

Through pro bono work, partnerships and community involvement, FJG continues to play an active role in improving access to legal support for those who need it most.

From those taking part

Tom Joyce, Solicitor in the Family team, said:

“The Access to Justice Foundation provides vital support to ensure people can access legal advice when they need it most, across a wide range of areas. This is especially important in family law, where individuals are often facing some of the most difficult moments of their lives. It helps to provide access to advice and legal support on issues such as child arrangements, domestic abuse and financial separation, protecting those who are most vulnerable.”

Leah Mackay, Solicitor Apprentice at Fisher Jones Greenwood, said:

“Supporting the Legal Walk and Access to Justice Foundation means those who are less fortunate are able to access legal advice in times of need. Access to legal support should be for everyone, not just those who can afford it. Getting involved in this means that we are one step closer to making a difference!”
