Solicitor
Sam Howlett is a Solicitor in our Family Team based at our Charter Court Office in Colchester. She joined FJG in September 2022 as a Graduate Solicitor Apprentice and passed her SQE in February 2025, qualifying as a Solicitor in March 2025.
Sam advises across a broad range of family matters, including divorce, finances and children cases, as well as having experience in child protection issues and Social Services. Sam also works alongside Rachel Earnshaw advising clients in Special Educational Needs law.
Sam graduated from the University of Essex with a first-class honours law degree in 2020. She won the prize for the highest performing first year student on an Undergraduate Law programme and the highest performing student on the Family Law module. She also won the prestigious award for the best contribution by an individual law student at the Law Works and Attorney General Pro Bono Awards in 2021 for her work at Essex Law Clinic, whilst at University.
