I started off my career with a Level 3 apprenticeship at FJG in June 2021. This was perfect for me as I didn’t enjoy school and wanted to be independent. I found lots of apprenticeship opportunities on LinkedIn and other job websites.
Apprenticeships in general allow you to earn and learn as well as develop crucial skills for your future career. I have learnt more in the last 18 months by getting stuck in and pushing myself than I ever have before. This has allowed me to obtain experience, qualifications and good working relationships by doing this.
The biggest benefits for me were:
- Earning whilst learning
- Meeting various people on a professional basis, allowing me to get my name out there for the right reasons
- Being able to put core life skills in to practice and real life scenarios
Although I didn’t know what I wanted to do when leaving school, I am now set on my career goal of becoming a Solicitor. FJG are giving me the opportunity to start my journey on the Solicitor Apprenticeship scheme to be able to achieve this.
I received an invaluable amount of support whilst completing my first apprenticeship, allowing me to get to where I am now.
My biggest piece of advice for anyone looking at Apprenticeships is do not worry if it seems like a bigger change than you can manage because you will be okay and you will find your feet.
