Fisher Jones Greenwood LLP (FJG), a leading law firm in the eastern region, is delighted to announce that Rachel Earnshaw, a partner in its family law team, has once again achieved Children’s Panel re-accreditation. The milestone achievement marks an impressive 16 consecutive years of recognition and allows Rachel to represent children in legal proceedings, particularly in complex cases involving social care and court decisions about their welfare.

Accreditation is awarded every three years by the Law Society to solicitors who can demonstrate a high level of expertise and knowledge in children law, which is assessed through a rigorous application process, including case studies, references, assessments, and ongoing professional development. Rachel manages the family law team at FJG’s Clacton office on Station Road, advising clients there as well as at the firm’s Colchester office. She is the only Children’s Panel accredited member in the Tendring area.

Commenting on what influences her to pursue re-accreditation, Rachel said: “The endorsement enables me to represent children in cases where they are the central concern. “It is vital that their voices are heard and that they are the focus when decisions are being made. This is especially important in cases involving disputes about where children will live, the amount of time they will spend with their parents following a separation or divorce, and in cases involving social care where children are potentially going to be removed from their families. “Without accreditation, I couldn’t achieve the best outcomes for children and that’s what motivates me.”
