Tony Fisher, Law Society Council Member for Essex and a member of the Human Rights Committee, organised the visit this September. The day began with a private tour led by Kate Buckland, Head of Sales, and Richard Hopkiss from the Facilities team, who has been with the Law Society for 37 years. The tour included some of the lesser-known corridors, where guests learned about the history of the Law Society, its origins, and its support for solicitors. The Head Archivist then guided the group through the impressive library. The visit concluded with a meal in the stunning restaurant.
Charlotte remarked, “What surprised us was that the Law Society, the library, and the rooms are resources available to all of us, yet they are rarely used. If you are in court in London, you can go there to relax, study, or enjoy a meal at the wonderful Six Clerks restaurant. The library has resources beyond imagination and allows you to email yourself up to five items from Lexis Nexis per day. It was a wonderful day, made even more special by the President himself joining us for the final stage of our tour!”
